Learning Together.
Hear from our rockstar Learning LAB director Jessica about why we design our workshops for parents and why you should join us at our upcoming labs!
Becoming a parent is a whole new world that, dare I say, nobody is truly ready for. It can be easy to get overwhelmed, feel pressured, or wonder whose opinion to trust. We know the more you can learn about the things that matter to you - parenthood, self-care, creating a better world for your kids, and so much more - the better prepared you are to lead a life that you want.
Community Impact LAB hosts Learning LABs where licensed professionals and educators give their time to provide expertise to our community so! They share valuable information, focus on changes that have happened to one’s body, mind, and soul, and allow discussions with other individuals to create change for a better world and future for our children. The workshops and talks are driven by what our members want and we strive to provide opportunities that are meaningful and accessible. That’s why our topics vary in scope, are free or heavily discounted, and are designed to accommodate children whenever possible.
Some of the topics we explore include:
Emergency Preparedness
Parenting for an Inclusive World - Systems of Oppression
Self-Care for Down There: A Pelvic Health Self-Care Workshop
Talking Identity and Race with Kids
Implicit Bias and Education Workshop
50/50 Day Screening & Discussion for Gender Equality
Postpartum depression
Imposter Syndrome
Financial Planning
Dads Dealing with Kids
Developing Your Parent-Child Relationship ( 3 part series)
Physical Therapy: Pre and post part conditions overview and Core strengthening
Every time I attend one of these events I gain insight into topics that I may not have even understood. I am able to talk directly to an expert and get input on my personal situation. The knowledge and skills I have learned have helped guide how I nurture my child, how I take care of my own mental well-being and consider diverse perspectives. The events are so beneficial and can expand your community.
