Community Baby Shower

Every woman deserves to be celebrated. Every mother deserves recognition for her strength, her sacrifice, and her gift to the world. We are humbled to be able to bring so many families together for our first annual Community Baby Shower. Thank you to all of our families that helped make the event such a beautiful experience.
The Shower brought love in the form of community, Lift-Me-Up boxes, food, and pampering for 119 parents and kids. Attendees received over $50,000 in supplies and services. Families Belong Together - San Leandro Family Rally
Community Impact Lab led a family-friendly march & rally to send a clear message to our elected officials and the rest of the world that we demand an end to the cruel policy of separating and children from their parents and that #FamiliesBelongTogether! This isn't about partisanship or politics. This is about standing up for a humane and compassionate treatment of fellow parents, fellow children, and fellows humans.

World Refugee Day
On World Refugee Day, Community Impact Lab gathered the community to learn more about how we can take action locally and globally to help refugees and asylum seekers. Volunteers helped sort donations for our Lift Me Up program, which provides essential goods to vulnerable expectant refugees and asylum seekers, undocumented teens, and other vulnerable populations in our community.

Community Impact LAB March for Our Lives
On March 24, the kids, families and friends of March For Our Lives took to the streets to demand that their lives and safety become a priority and that we end gun violence and mass shootings in our schools and communities today.
Our agency is amplified and change happens when we come together. We are inspired by the hundreds of people in San Leandro who joined in marching to end gun violence in our schools and communities. It’s up to each and every one of us to do better for our children. |
Community Impact LAB: Lift Me Up Bags for Immigrant
Thank you so much to everyone that honored Dr. MLK’s legacy of service with us today. With the help of 50+ parents and kids, we made 70 Lift Me Up bags filled with needed supplies for unaccompanied youth and new moms. Our youngest volunteers colored pictures and wrote cards, new and familiar people met and learned more about their community, and everyone came together to show how all of us can come together to be a force for good.

Lift-Me-Up Baby Gift Boxes
Being a new mom is hard enough. As fellow parents, we want to help ease the hardship, especially for pregnant refugees, teens, homeless women, and other vulnerable populations. We collect and deliver LiftMeUp Gift Bags through nonprofit organizations or to individuals who have been vetted by trusted community partners.
As of August 2016, we've delivered 100 bags and 50+car seats to women across the East Bay. Help us continue our work by donating items, money, or time! We include the following items in each bag:
